Requirements for Police Officer candidates:
The Village of Bedford Park, Illinois, an Equal Opportunity Employer, when seeking qualified applicants for the position of Police Officer, do so without regard to race, color, creed, gender or ethnic origin. Applicants must be a citizen of the United States, must be at least 21 years of age and must not have reached their 40th birthday by the application filing deadline. Applicants must have completed at minimum 60 hours of college credit from an accredited college or university. Applicants must meet all other requirements outlined in the application packet.
The testing process includes a written test which the applicant must obtain a score of seventy percent (70%) or greater; a physical agility POWER test (pass/fail); an oral interview; background investigation; psychological evaluation; polygraph examination; drug test; and medical screening.
