Emergency Medical Services

      EMS Coordinator: Joe Machanis

        The Bedford Park Fire Department Paramedic Unit started in 1977 with one ambulance and a crew of six paramedics. Today our EMS Department has two Advanced Life Support Ambulances and our paramedics have increased to a total of eighteen.

All of our Paramedics have been trained in Advance Cardiac Life Support, Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support and various additional certifications. The EMS Department has received multiple awards for outstanding performance and teamwork by their Primary Resource Hospital, Christ Hospital Advocate Medical Center, in Oak Lawn Illinois.
