Bedford Park Board Briefs 1. The Board is continuing the process of negotiating a refinancing of bonds for the hotel project. The money saved on the refinancing should permit the Village to complete pending capital projects. We hope to complete the process by November 1st . 2. The Village Board has approved an updated ordinance for the position of Village Administrator. The Village will soon begin the process of seeking qualified candidates. 3. We greatly appreciate everyone's participation at the Village Picnic. The weather was not the greatest but the community hospitality and spirit of our residents and employees made the day a success in continuing a great Bedford Park tradition. Congratulations and thanks to our World War II veterans that received recognition. We are very fortunate to have had their service. Special thanks to the Bob Good and the Argo High School Marching Band, the Lupo's for their efforts with the food, our employees and Clerk Rackow for a great picnic. 4. Our Village Ordinance Book has been updated and should be available on the village website (villageofbedfordpark.com) very soon. 5. SBC is close to giving us a proposal on internet service for the village. 6. The Village is continuing to oppose the lawsuit brought against us by CSWS concerning their proposed adult entertainment center at 70th PL and Central in the industrial area. A pre-trial hearing will take place in early September. 7. The Village, the Library and Enterpriz of Cook County will host a a breakfast for local businesses at the library on September 8th . 8. The Village will re-name 67th ST. west from Cicero Avenue to LaVergne Ave , “ Jack Weglarz Drive ”, in recognition of Mr. Weglarz's efforts in developing the Bedford Park-Midway Hotel Complex. A naming ceremony will take place on September 8th at 5 PM at 67th and Cicero . 9. The railroad crossing at 65th ST. and Harlem Avenue will be closed from 9 AM on Monday, September 19th until 3 PM on Friday, September 23rd for repairs.
